About
I am a cultural psychologist working at the VU university medical center in Amsterdam. I have recently received my PhD in Religious Studies. My research generally focuses on the cultural context of death and dying. Currently I am studying ethics of medical care and end-of-life decision making. My PhD thesis deals with the role of the postself in meaning making of death and notions of immortality in the Netherlands. I am also interested in research on narcissism and meaning making, existential fear, suicide and the cultural meaning of death.
