About
I am Ruben Lelivelt and I work as a freelance physical geographer in Dutch commercial archaeology.
After having finished my studies in physical geography (Utrecht University 1996-2001) I was employed at BOOR (City Archaeology Rotterdam) as a physical geographer, where I carried out archaeological prospection projects in the city as well as in the surrounding rural areas. Subsequently, I started working as a physical geographer in the commercial Dutch archaeology on a freelance basis. Alongside my work I keep my knowledge concerning archaeology and earth sciences updated by studying for an MSc in Geoarcheology at the VU University in Amsterdam. (Geoarchaeologist use techniques from earth sciences to solve archaeological problems.)
As a masters student at the VU University I am currently involved in geoarchaeological research in southern Italy and I recently completed a geoarchaeological research project in northwestern Greece. Anyone who is interested in these projects or in Dutch (geo)archaeology is welcome to contact me.
